Brooklyn, N.Y. — A gay male escort who allegedly kidnapped a 12-year-old girl from her home and then sexually assaulted her on a bus was arrested on Thursday, police said.
The girl, who is not identified, was found on a bench on the South Shore of Brooklyn on Tuesday, police and the prosecutor’s office said.
She was taken to a hospital and released.
Police did not release any additional information about the incident.
Homeland Security said that the suspect, who was not identified and was released without charges, had been deported to Canada.
The agency said he had no prior convictions or arrests.
“Homeland security continues to monitor the ongoing investigation,” the agency said in a statement.
Authorities said they are continuing to work with prosecutors to determine whether there are further charges.
An NYPD spokesman said in an email that the department was aware of the arrest and had been notified.
Earlier in the day, police in Brooklyn arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting a child.
In December, a man in Brooklyn was arrested for allegedly groping and assaulting a 12 year-old boy in a park after the boy reported him to police.
